Freshwater pearls are genuine cultured pearls produced in large mussels bred in ponds.

Origin South-East Asia : Vietnam, Thailand, South China.

Quality or grade
similar as jewel gem class
A : Little or no default, high luster, regular shape.
B : Small defects, a nice luster, slightly irregular shape.
C : irregularities, natural luster, baroque form.

Natural colors : White, Peach, Lavender. The black color is artificial (dyed); only Tahitian pearls are naturally black.
